America’s Got Talent Season 5 runner-up Jackie Evancho has announced a new original song called “Behind My Eyes.” The track is set to be released next Friday, but fans can get a taste of the song now on Evancho’s Instagram.
Jackie Evancho Announces New Song ‘Behind My Eyes’
On Friday, Evancho took to Instagram to share a brief snippet of her new song “Behind My Eyes.” The post includes several photos of Evancho in the studio when she was working on the track. As the singer wrote in the caption, “What are you doing one week from today?!”
“Behind My Eyes” will be released on Friday, September 8. Earlier this week, Evancho posted a photo of herself with producer Greg Camp (of Smash Mouth fame) and shared that this is “the first song to be released both written and sung by me.”
“It’s unlike anything I’ve released before, and I can’t wait for you all to hear it on Sept. 8,” Evancho wrote, encouraging fans to pre-save the song before its release.
The singer previously teased another snippet of the new song, which includes the chorus. Evancho sings, “If you could see behind my eyes / You’d see the truth inside the lies.”

Evancho Released Another Original on TikTok
Earlier this year, Evancho released another original song on TikTok. The track is called “Get Out of My Life.” The singer shared that the song is “not finished,” but she still wanted fans to hear it. She also explained that she recorded the song in a hotel room on GarageBand.
Last year, Evancho released an album Carousel of Time, which featured 10 covers of songs by Joni Mitchell. It seems like Evancho is currently focused on putting out more original music. In an interview with Talent Recap last year, she shared that she had “been doing a lot of songwriting.”
