For a new segment on her talk show, Jennifer Hudson crashed a couple’s wedding in California to serenade them with her song “Giving Myself.” The moment is part of the Season 2 premiere of The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Jennifer Hudson Crashes Couple’s Wedding

In a video posted by the show, Hudson can be seen surprising Traci and Pat Jean-Baptiste on their wedding day. Before the surprise, the singer said the couple’s family didn’t even know she would be appearing at the reception.

When the couple arrived in the dining area, they were confused to find that none of their guests were present. That’s when they moved into the other room to find their friends and family waiting for them. Just as they started dancing, a curtain was lowered to reveal Hudson.

The couple jumped up and down with excitement when they saw her. The American Idol alum then launched into a performance of “Giving Myself,” which was part of her self-titled debut album in 2008.

Traci and Pat embraced each other and swayed back and forth as Hudson performed. The singer ended the soulful performance by telling the couple, “Congratulations!”

Hudson’s Talk Show Returns This Week

The second season of Hudson’s talk show is premiering Monday. The show was originally set to premiere last month, while the WGA strike was still ongoing. However, the premiere was delayed, with The Hollywood Reporter sharing that Hudson apparently advocated for it.

A deal was recently made to end the writers’ strike, which means a lot of shows are returning to our TV screens. That includes The Jennifer Hudson Show, as well as late-night shows hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and John Oliver.
