For her Blind Audition, Chechi performed “Lovin’ You” by Minnie Riperton. She started the performance with a stunning whistle tone that shocked the coaches. John Legend and Gwen Stefani hit their buttons to turn around at almost exactly the same time.

It only took a few seconds for Niall Horan and Reba McEntire to join them, making Chechi a four-chair turn. The coaches sat back and enjoyed the rest of the singer’s incredible performance, which showed off her impressive vocal ability.

“Who are you, and which planet do you come from?” Horan asked Chechi after her performance. She replied that she’s 32 years old and originally from Pontiac, Michigan. However, she currently lives in Los Angeles.

What Did the Coaches Think of Her Audition?

Horan told Chechi that she has “set the bar so high for this competition,” calling her a “ready-made star.” He predicted that she’ll make it to the Season 24 Finals, adding, “I would absolutely love for you to be on Team Niall.”

McEntire said she agreed with Horan, telling Chechi, “Your ability to sing is off the charts. But what I love so much is you’re having fun. You’re classy, the way you do your hands. There’s a storytelling to when you’re performing. Your vocals are just insane, and I would love to have you on my team.”

Legend told Chechi that the whistle tone could easily become a “one-trick pony kind of thing,” but she proved that she has “so much more to your voice than just that.” He also predicted that she can make it to the finale.

Stefani said that Chechi was “in complete control of the whole room,” adding that it “felt like I was just watching a Grammys performance.” We’ll find out during Monday’s new episode which coach’s team Chechi chose to join.
