The Voice Season 25 returned on Monday night for the first round of Playoffs, as artists on Team Legend and Team Dan + Shay took the stage. During the show, four singers were eliminated from the competition, while six moved on to the live shows.

Who Did John Legend Keep on His Team in The Voice Playoffs?
The five remaining artists on Team Legend performed in Monday’s Playoffs, including Nathan Chester, who delivered a powerhouse performance of “Oh! Darling” by the Beatles. Nathan showed off a great stage presence and an incredible voice. Reba McEntire called it the “best performance ever.”
Meanwhile, Zoe Lavert took the stage to sing “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls, bringing amazing power and emotion to the performance. Chance the Rapper called it his “favorite performance” of the night, suggesting she should put out a studio version.
Playoff Pass recipient Bryan Olesen also performed on Team Legend Monday night, singing “Africa” by Toto. Bryan is the oldest artist in the competition this season, at age 50. He brought his signature rocker voice to the performance, prompting Dan Smyers to say he’s “already a superstar.”
Unfortunately, John Legend could only keep three artists on his team after the Playoffs. He chose to send Nathan Chester, Zoe Levert, and Bryan Olesen through. That meant we had to say goodbye to Mafe and Kamalei Kawa’a.

Who Made It Through on Team Dan + Shay?
Team Dan + Shay also performed on Monday’s show. That includes Madison Curbelo, who earned their Playoff Pass in the Battles. Madison paid tribute to her father with an emotional performance of “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac. McEntire said it gave her goosebumps.
Meanwhile, Karen Waldrup took the stage to sing “Heart Like a Truck” by Lainey Wilson. She showed off a strong country voice, prompting McEntire to call it “spectacular.” She joked about how much she wanted Karen on her team, but Dan + Shay blocked her.
Monday’s episode also featured a performance from Tae Lewis, who performed “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” by Randy Houser. Tae displayed a great energy, inspiring Chance to call it his “most soulful performance.”
Dan + Shay could only keep three artists on their teams going into the live shows. They chose Madison Curbelo, Karen Waldrup, and Tae Lewis. That meant we had to say goodbye to Anya True and Olivia Rubini.
