American Idol runner-up Alejandro Aranda has a new single out called “Tonight,” and it’s sure to sound familiar to fans. He performed the song on the Idol finale earlier this year. Now there’s a music video to go with it.
The song has the same dreamy, relaxed quality we’ve come to expect from Alejandro. According to Idolator, it was co-written with his mentor Twin Shadow. “And you’re all I see and I want and I need tonight,” Alejandro sings in the chorus.
Alejandro’s “Tonight” Music Video
“Tonight” is currently available to stream and download, but you can also check out Alejandro’s new music video for the track. It features the singer lying down in front of the camera, occasionally looking over as he sings. Periodically, French words appear at the bottom of the screen, seeming to create a new song of their own.
“Meet me at the edge of the old lighthouse,” one of the French lines seems to mean, according to Google Translate. Poetic stuff.
What Are The Fans Saying?
Alejandro’s Twitter followers reacted positively to his tweet about the new single. “You never cease to keep me in awe,” one fan wrote. Another commented that he looks “like a whole snack” in the music video. Another wrote that they were “excited to follow your career as it explodes.”
What’s Next For Alejandro?
Alejandro recently signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records, and announced that he’s working on an album. He also announced several tour dates for this fall. Tickets are on sale now.
He’ll also be joining his fellow Top 10 American Idol contestants to perform at Seattle’s Museum of Flight on July 20, to mark the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
We can’t wait to hear what else Alejandro has in store.
